I believe it's Sunday May 5th .

TQ29m 4/30/24 3:21 PM

Bingo!

cowboyhar69 4/30/24 4:27 PM

And still no answers from you on coolers allowed and infield seating….. tried IOW, your Facebook page and private messages. I don’t understand why an answer is so difficult?

:5: This same thing came up last year, Tim. My how things do not change.

If it all plays out the same way, you might get the answer on the coolers, but the question of bringing in your own beer will not be addressed.

Good luck with that and the weather. I am hoping for the best for all. I'll be north of the Indiana border this weekend.

Mike, last year was a rookie promotor. But this year the promoter has 2 other tracks and has had one for a number of years. Seems like they would know that you need to let the paying customers know these things. Used to be $15 general admission for the infield which made it very family friendly, a guy could take his wife, a 12 year old and an 8 year old for $45. If it’s $30 for 11 and older then it will cost him $90 this year…… the guy probably can’t afford that.

flagboy55 4/30/24 8:35 PM

I would expect an answer to your question soon. I’m sure more than a handful of people are interested in the infield

Re: Terre Haute Action Track Racing Sunday May 3rd

Maybe they don't want everyone bringing one, but instead helping support their business (on the concession side - I understand those that wana know are already buying a ticket) that is open like 5 times a year; BUT, if you happen to bring one and don't get caught, maybe they won't say anything...of if when u get there and see a sign to not have it, either take your chances and worst case maybe get kicked out; OR, save it for the next time you go somewhere that you can use it...

cowboyhar69 5/1/24 10:59 AM

Jason, then they should state that in their post. still doesn’t address the issue of the price for the infield or if there is even infield seating. If the infield seating is the same as the stands you risk losing some fans due to the extra cost.

Terre Haute just posted on FB that grandstand admission is $31, infield $5 off or $26. No mention of coolers.
Hopefully you can see the picture of the post from THAT on FB

ThrowbackRacingTeam 5/4/24 8:07 AM

They’re probably just messin with this dude that’s constantly asking about coolers and infield tickets.

You can bring a cooler but have to donate a kidney immediately after the race!

my sobriety date is 11/29/98

Race Day!

Racer12 5/5/24 1:56 PM

We are aware it is race day, but could you please address on weather coolers are allowed or not? No info on this on FB, IOW, My Race Pass or anywhere. The other tracks you all run it is posted clearly, but this one on your first race day there you aren’t answering a basic question from your customers…

no coolers, staying home, thought the price was steep but having a cooler would off set the high gate fee!

Just take the darn cooler, if you can’t take it in, take it back to the car. How hard is that to figure out.

What if a person is handicapped? Taking it back to the car can be a problem.

They said, Cooler yes, BEER NO.
Let that be the end of it.

ronmil 5/5/24 10:09 PM

Any feature results yet? How was crowd attendance?

flagboy55 5/5/24 10:14 PM

I have not seen results but have heard from a very reliable source that the crowd was sparse

Go Fast 5/5/24 10:32 PM

Jacob Allen wins over Rico.

WinglessLovers 5/5/24 10:34 PM

Finish: Jacob Allen, Rico Abreu, KTJ, Sterling Cling & Skylar Gee.

Bruce Eckel

EzDuzIt247 5/5/24 11:45 PM

Attendance was low. A little controversy with Rico running out of fuel leading and a open red being thrown to allow a fuel stop. Then putting Rico back to third when it appeared he wasn't the only one running out. Rico didn't go down to the podium like Allen and KTJ afterward so I'd say there were some hard feelings.

RACrappieman 5/6/24 12:06 AM

Just got home from the action track. Crowd was indeed very sparse. I’d guess it at 200-300 people unfortunately. I was happy to see Jacob Allen get a win.

Thanks for the update. Sorry to see the crowd report. What were the reasons why the program ran so long? Something happen?

If they plan on running Sunday evenings, then they'll have to make changes in order to correct the low attendance and car count. Like a number of tracks that we attend, there was never a sense of urgency to move the program along. They certainly didn't take too long for any track prep. A touch up was fine but I'm sure some fans weren't happy with the dust blowing into the grandstands.

We attended this event and also the Amati 68 on Saturday night at Paragon. We came away asking ourselves what exactly happened at both tracks with how the events were officiated. Strange events took place and the announcers were absolutely clueless in explaining anything. When the track announcer tells you what just happened and how they are going to "fix" it, then somehow that doesn't happen, is it any wonder why fans don't come back since it seems someone got the shaft with how it was handled?

It didn't matter to me since I wasn't there supporting just one driver. However, it would have been interesting to hear the explanation back in the pits afterwards. But with a long distance trip ahead and the frustration of starting late, plus more races to follow, we packed up and headed for the exits.

More concerning to me seems to be the numbers. Friday night 9 sprint cars at Bloomington with no other competition other than USAC at Eldora. Saturday night only 16 cars for the biggest show as well as decent paying at Paragon and Sunday night only 21 cars with no competition close by. Interesting times ahead.

Charles Nungester 5/6/24 2:47 PM

Re: Terre Haute Action Track Racing Sunday May 3rd

Circle City had at least 17 steel block sprints Fri night.
