Good race. Bobby East had it won then something happened to him on the backstretch and he dropped to the inside and back to 8th before starting to accelerate again.

Then he charged back to 2nd driving the wheels off the car but ran out of tire to beat Clauson.

About 1400 people in hte stands i hear.

Track was an absolute handful for most drivers, many really struggling just to get around the place. Awesome though, both the midgets and sprints. Midgets broke JJ Yeleys track recod from 2003.

The crowd was weak. Not sure if the weather had anything to do with it, they were calling for rain. I would guess not more the 2,000. 2,000 times 20.00 covers the purse.

I thought the night was about a B rating.

If the sprints had more practice time on that track, I think it would have been better. Looked like they were getting more confidence with every lap.

Dakota turned the fastest lap of the night according to the scoreboard when he took the lead. 15:99. The sprints were running low 16's at the start, then mid 16's at the end pf the features.

Car count was what I had expected. Hope they come back next year.

I question USAC's scheduling. Run the midgets at TRi city the night before, then expect the drivers to drive all night up to Berlin? I thought the WOrld of outlaws were crazy!

Now to get a MIchigan promoter to get them up here on dirt!!!!

Berlin has been having low crowd numbers all year. With very high job loss in Michigan, all things in Michigan are taking a hit. Also Berlin is a stock car track. Alot of times when it is a non stock car--open wheel night, people "take the weekend off. " Also schools just got done for the year the day before, so alot of graduation parties. The NASCAR race this weekend at MIS did not help. (see the above part about "stock car fan"
As far as car counts, you need to bring them. No non wing-big time sprints in Michigan. Will not even bring up Michigan based midgets. Also was the A.V.S.S racing Sat night? Only way to get a large number of cars would be to have them show up. But I think the 1st A.V.S.S. show this year at Berlin only had 16 cars.
Does anyone know what happen to Bobby East? Had the race in the bag till he slowed for a few seconds.
