Chris,
Happy Birhtday and many more to come. We met at Toledo Speedway during the second ISMA/AVSS combination show. You and I sat alone on a small bleacher smack dab in the middle of the race track infield. It was a special evening talking with you and watching you work your spiral notebook. I can only imagine the many thousands of individuals you have made a positive impact upon over the many years of your work. I am sure I speak for many when I say you ARE "America's Motorsports Authority".

Happy 90th Birthday, young man.

The first racing writer I ever knew of, my first influence in getting myself started writing about racing and life itself.

Sat near Chris at Richmond a few years ago during IRL practice, back when the IRL and USAC were both there. I'd have said hello but was too tongue tied. I was in awe of the man and remain so.

Racing would not be where it is today if it wasn't for you Mr. Economaki. One of my biggest regrets in life was walking behind you several years ago in Memphis after the first Fram Dash and not having the guts to ask you for an autograph. I was just in awe that the Dean of Motorsports was standing right there.

I hope you have the happiest birthday ever and we all love you and what you have done for the sport we love as much as you do.

Happy Birthday!! Man I wish we could get another 1 hour interview with this man. The one Dave Despain did a few years back was GREAT and it only brushed the surface.
