Looking through some of my old racing memorabilia, I came across this old racing news clipping about Sam Sessions winning his first supermodified race at Oswego Speedway, New York - A Few Years Back in the 1960's.
Sam Sessions was a champion open wheel driver and fan favorite.
Have a good day...see you at the races
Rich - Arnold, Missouri
NOTE: Bucky Bucholtz was an alias name for another open wheel champion Ronnie Lux
In the 70's used to watch him race every Sunday night at Kamamazoo speedway. Not sure of the year he died in a snowmobile race. Also his son raced for a few years.
I always like him, he was very nice to us kids in the pits after the races. I thought it was cool that a local driver who had raced in the Indy 500 was racing at our local track.
Have a good memory of Sam 1 day @ Trenton after a Champ Car race.
After the race, a buddie & I went to the pits, & ended up @ Sam's pit.
He was sitting on the pit wall & telling a story (I don't remember about
who or what) & had us all laughing so hard we almost wet ourselves.
He was a good guy,

Sam drove the Dowker/Ace Bolt and Nut Roadster Supermod from Charlotte,Mi. (my home town) late in his career. It was a very sharp car. His son Jerry raced several years with SOD. Last I knew he still lived in Nashville,Mi. and was president of the school board. Nice guy.
