Andrew has only 2 more Proton Radiation treatments left so he will be done the end of this week in Bloomington. He has done remarkably well with this part of the treatment. Part of this is because he has only had one chemo treatment during this 7 week period. Chemo kind of kicks him in the butt.
He has enjoyed all of the attention that the holidays and family have presented. I can't believe the number of toys he has received, it is unbelievable. Now I have to transport them back to Michigan and fit them into the house. I was shocked by the number of folks who have sent holiday wishes through cards and letters, sent toys and especially monetary donations to help defray medical bills. We haven't asked anyone to do this but through the generiousity of your hearts you have responded. My family and I are very humbled. I still say there are sooooooooooooo many wonderful people in the world. I am honored to have met a number of you and I am hoping to meet a bunch more to say thank you in person. Andrew's protocol will now shift back to chemotherapy at the Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. He will be undergoing treatment about every two to three weeks through the end of October. We dread this part of the procedure since it requires hospitalization from 3-5 days each and he usually is rather sick the week following the treatment. He will have an MRI the end of this month and then again the end of February. The results of these tests will determine exactly where he is at in the treatment process and how successful it has been thus far. We have been enjoying some extra time with Andrew that all of this has presented. He is such a great little boy and he flashes that infectious smile which will melt your heart. He is also loving all the attention he is getting right now. It makes the old man really proud to say he is my grandson. I will end this rather lengthy post by again thanking you all for your continued prayers and well wishes, and your continued interest in Andrew's journey. Mike |

Mike, as always, thank you for taking the time to update us on Andrew's journey. Andrew has remained in our daily prayer session here at the Grant Co. Rescue Mission and will remain so until God has worked his miracle in Andrew's life and healed him. May we be here at this time next year and talk about that miracle with the knowledge that the healing has taken place. May God be with you all.
