velocity motorsports report
chico 5/9/2008 the velocity motorsports team went to silver dollar speedway to get driver myles bishop more lap time at the very fast 1/4 mile oval, even though this was a 410 sprint car show myles and crew took the 360 sprinter to chico for seat time. qualifying was first in the order of events for the team, myles would turn a time of 12.436 which ended up being 14th quick. myles would be in the 2nd heat against the powerful 410 field, myles and the crew got everything right as myles finished 2nd in the heat and transfered to the a-main. the velocity team and crew chief chuck cypert went to work getting ready for the main where myles and the cv fabricators maxim would start 11th. the green falg was thrown on the a-main and myles would quickly hold his own against the more powerful 410 cars in his cv fabricators/maclac paints/stud welding products/kaeding perfomance center/yak graphics/pacific bolt maxim. the main was a dog fight from the front of the field to the rear and myles held his own when there was a red flag for a flipping tyler franklin, under the red chuck and myles discussed conditions and myles adjusted to them and brought the car home a stellar 6th. placerville 5/10/2008 the velocity team ventured to placerville speedway on saturday. myles first event would be qualifying, where he stepped up and turned 10th quick time of 10.809. the next track time for the team was the heat race which would prove tough with the quality of cars and drivers the assembled at placerville this week, myles started 4th and ran hard only getting passed by past winner and track champion greg decaires which sent myles to the b-main for the first time this year. the b-main would prove to be tough also with past winners and champions kyle hirst/colby wiesz/andy forsberg and scott russell all in the b-main with myles. the green flag unfurled and the b was underway in what looked like jet fighters in a hallway, the cars used every inch of alan padgens track looking to transfer to the a-main. when the checkered flag came down myles found himself in 5th after a hard fought battle myles would be the 1st alternate, everyone started the a-main and myles night was over until next week where the team will rebound. come by and see us at the races and at our website. www.velocitymotorsportsracing.com :Steer |
