Paducah International Raceway scheduled a two night POWRi winged and non winged show tonight and tomorrow night. This event has been on the schedule since the POWRi schedules were announced. $5,000 to win the winged show Friday night and $7,000 to win Saturday night. 11 Winged sprints cars checked in and 5 non winged sprint cars checked. SAD! POWRi cancelled tonight’s show due to “weather concerns”.

Well, despite the fact that it is a beautiful, sunny 90° day here in Western KY, POWRi issued a notice that tonight’s 2nd night of open wheel racing at Paducah International Raceway was cancelled due to “weather”. I feel sorry for all the flack the promoter at Paducah is going to have to incur for this debacle!

We thought about running down there, then found out only 2,000 to win 200 to start. That's same or worse than most Indiana local show payouts

Race Count This Year: 19 Race Count Last Year: 25 Join Date: Jul 2009 Posts: 9,388 |
WAR is on lifesupport. Only 8 cars for the LOR doubleheader last weekend. With the addition Powri wing 410s the car counts have dropped.MWRA has also taken a portion of the former regulars. The last big hurrah for this series will be the Hockett Memorial in September. I would love to see a new BOSS like series than ran Nebraska,Iowa,Illinois, and Missouri.I won't hold my breath though.

This is a perfect example of over saturation in the wing cars. If I was going to create a successful series,I would want at least 20 teams that are looking for a place to race. You can't just keep robbing them from other tracks and series. As for the WAR guys. For a series that has always been a working mans series, that is a long way to ask those guys to travel. The car counts were pretty close to what I would have expected.
