16 cars, that’s an embarrassment. USAC needs to do something to get support on the pavement program.

Not to mention it was extremely boring. Other than Taylor Ferns, nobody did any passing. I'm not sure that track is a good fit for the Silver Crown cars.

I was there. Drove 8 1/2 hours. Jennerstown was a new track for me and I was excited to see it on the USAC Silver Crown schedule.

Yes, the race was a stinker. Not gonna lie. However, I have to mention some positives:

- The crowd was HUGE. I would estimate 4-5,000. Probably the biggest crowd I’ve seen for a Silver Crown race in years.
- Admission was only $20. There was a $5 fee for parking.
- The track itself reminds of IRP. I’d say it’s almost a carbon copy. BIG half mile.
- The facility is first class. Clean, professional. Great light, PA system, Jumbotron. And it’s a very neat setting. Jennerstown has a population of about 700 people and the track is right in town. Kinda like Port Royal. Lots of history too. They’ve been racing here since 1930.
- The car count was disappointing. However, out of the three divisions racing at Jennerstown, the Crown cars had the biggest car count. The track’s weekly late model division only had 11 cars. The charger (street stock) class had 13. I didn’t hear the locals complain about the USAC car count.
- Taylor Ferns put on a show to finish fourth. There was some good racing all night from 2nd on back.
- Coming from Illinois, I came out I-70 and took US 30 when I got into Pennsylvania. What a scenic drive that is. US 30 winds it’s way up into the Laurel Mountains where Jennerstown sits. That drive alone was worth the trip. Although, it was a little hairy coming down the mountain at night.

GREAT info! Thank-you for posting that. Wondered/figured much of what you posted.

Jennerstown is an awesome facility, fans are great. Tricky racetrack, the racing should get better on future visits as teams figure it out. Car count was light as several teams have had engine issues, crashed race cars, etc. and are regrouping. But it was a QUALITY field. Swanson, Grant, Santos, Seavy, Roarhig, Leary-doesn't get much better than that on pavement. Top 7 cars within 0.16 seconds in qualifying!
Hope for a return visit in 2025. Also, the track stepped up and paid the "mile" purse ($10K to win, etc.) which is very nice for the teams.

Where's your car?

Not to mention many of the drivers are either slowing down their schedules. Coons, Cottle. , Cochrum among others.

Car count was bad. Race ON TV was a snoozer. Literally I fell asleep. I get the "issues" some teams are having right now. BUT if this is going to be an elite series, you have to find a way to show up with a full field. Usac knew who was coming. This is the type of race you really have to push those bottom tear trams to show up. Lap traffic really changes these races. I'm really worried about Friday at St. Louis. 16 cars is not going to look good on that track. You better get some dirt cars to start and park. They are advertising like crazy in the area.

I agree that it wasn't much of a race. Not every baseball game ends 3 to 2. I will be at Gateway Friday. Yes, I am hoping for a few more cars, but only if they are quality. Start and park will not add anything to the program. Also, I don't really want to watch cars closing in on guys going 50 mph slower on the straights. This is a very busy month for Silver Crown. Quite possibly the busiest ever, so I can see where guys may have to pick and choose.
I wonder if people would have complained if they did like extreme and use weather as a reason to cancel. I am sure both series worked with the tracks to come up with a solution that works for them. I would go to Jennerstown. Looked like a cool place.
