Scott Bloomquist obituary

https://www.millardfamilychapels.com...?obId=32790496

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

They were running Hav-a-tampa the first year I saw him 89-90ish and he had carbon fiber brakes which cost about ten grand a wheel at the time (Now they're common) and could drive into the corners easily a hundred ft or more deeper than everyone else. After he won so much the first couple seasons he was always testing. seeking the most HP etc.

but if Sweet Brady Baby had them...... it would be "OK" I'm sure

Folks always have their reasons for why they like/dislike or have criteria for which they form opinions of people. I’m not going to get into the side debate here. I think all of you have valid points. What is not debatable is the legend of Scott Bloomquist. I think Nathan hit on a lot of it. As I’ve said before, this part of Indiana is LM country, so I’ve always been a fan of them also. Been to World 100’s Dreams, summer Nationals. A constant has been Bloomer. I can’t say I’ve ever been polarized with him, but more like love him this week, hate him next. I can’t think of a bigger presence in dirt track racing, maybe Opperman. Not just his accomplishments but the aura around him. He was a giant in the sport. In my mind as far as LM’s go, I can only say that maybe Moyer is on his level of greatness. I wish I knew how to link the story but I urge you all to track down Dave Argabright’s blog on Dirt on Dirt and read his column on Scott. Even if you’re not a late model fan, it will provide context. Carbon fiber brakes or not Scott Bloomquist would belong on the Mt Rushmore of dirt track racing

You brought Bacon into it. It's a Bloomquist thread..
I never said Bloomer was cheating and didn't take anything away from him. I said he tested more, got the best motors, brakes, whatever he could do to get and stay on top.
