10/26/24 1:07 AM Matt Westfall Charges To Triumph At Red Dirt Raceway
Bringing the score to 2-0 in the rematch between the USAC Amsoil Sprint Car National Championship at the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating in favor of the United States Auto Club, both tours converged on Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway for the first time with Ohio’s Matt Westfall making an epic charge ... Congrats Matt! Well deserved. Watching night 2 of USAC sprints at Red Dirt, only into the second heat and watching on Flo we’ve already seen another example of very inadequate catch fencing (or none at all) with one out of the ballpark and one partially through the fence. USAC seems to be the only fire protection track workers arrive on scene with no protective gear and no firefighting equipment. Come on drivers and fans deserve better!

Im a firm believer that open wheel cars shouldn't run on K-railed walls with no catch fence, The fencing did it's job. Hate the garden fence post tracks but with cabled fencing it works..
I too noticed not one crew with fire protection and only one with a extenguisher.
Not knocking anyone but it always seems when stuff is overlooked that bad things happen.
Congrats to Matt Westfall on a master class of taking what was there and winning with it.
I like my Sprint Cars with full smash of the loud pedal. Meanwhile I couldn’t be happier for Matt. It was painful to watch but I understand the discipline and patience it took to do that. It reminds me of myself on my way to work getting off the exit ramp on the first snow of the year. It was a great drive worthy of a win. If I have to watch Sprint Cars idle through the corner to win, at least it’s Matt that pulled it off🏁🏁
Matt's win reminded me of Shane Cottle's sprint week win at Gas City several years ago. Like Matt's win, Shane ran the bottom to perfection, and I believe he won on the last lap. 🏁

I was at that race at Gas City and I was thinking the the same thing as I was watching this race.
