Two green flag laps were run while Grant was changing his tire and then came out and stopped causing the yellow. Maybe that wasn't on purpose, we will never know. But with two laps left and having gone laps down why even go back out.

I think your forum ID gives you a hint for the answer.

I was there for the race. My buddy had to get up at 5:30 AM Monday for work. I got him back to Reading, PA by 1:45 and I did not get back to Lansdale, PA by 2:45 but I did not need to get to work until 2:15 PM. To me the race was worth it, especially how much USAC East Coast 360 Sprints have grown over the last three years, BUT, very poor time management either by USAC or track. Knowing first hand how well Selinsgrove runs their shows the last few years makes me think it was more of a USAC thing. Patrick Sullivan was and is an outstanding announcer however the track announcer talks to hear himself way too much. It is easy to see why Port Royal let him go. I will return for any USAC silver Crown Race on any night at any track with in five hours drive from Philadelphia area. Nonwing racing is where it is at. My plans are to hit Williams Grove Friday for USAC EC Sprints, plus 410 wing stuff and head out to Salem for USAC SC on Saturday. Is there any problems with getting walk up tickets on Aug. 15? Thanks in advance. Be safe, stay safe

You're mistaking Grant for Windom. JG never came back out was 4 laps down

This sure got strange quick....
It was cool to see Cottle win from the back, wish i could have been there to see it. Flo & all the other PPVs rarely focus on battles in the back. Part of the fun live is whipping your head all over trying to keep track of the whole melee. But it seemed that the tire made all the difference. Must have been in good shape for 2 yrs. old! |

Anyhow there was so many yellows at the end it kind of diluted the excitement at the end. Was there even points to be gained. It reminds me of when you have that car off the pace not in contention and passes by the corner worker waving him in safely and they pass by and stops on the track. Just how I saw it Enjoyed the race overall. Was surprised at the not counting yellows. First thought was great. But not so sure after it was over. |
