I saw Eric Gordon race Tony Elliott what seemed about 15 laps at Salem I don't how many years ago. Elliott was in the lead Gordon
2nd.Gordon had the faster car but they raced each other inches apart all those laps and they never once touched. Gordon could have moved him (a nascar term I think) But you know he did not!.Nether one of them won the race .... my point is this. That night at ORP Gordon was the faster car all night and lead just about all the laps but due to a late yellow it turned out to be a one lap thing.Just a few feet from the finish the guy in second tried some kind of bonehead move and wrecked both cars. I don't think Gordon would have done the samething if he was in second ....... I am sure Santos will go on to be big millionaire Nascar star..... I still saw what I saw Richard Murray |

I am not a person to get involved in message boards, but i do enjoy reading what people write. And this post got to me. For4 if you knew how to watch a race you would realize eric was not the fastest car that night. He started on the front row and i started 12th. There was one yellow at the begining and it went non stop till the green white checkered. So eric built a lead while i had to deal with traffic. yes eric would have won if the yelllow didn't come out. But It did, and thats part of racing. In all the racing series i been involved with you can try to pass someone on a restart even though they had a big lead before the yellow. Its a part of racing. Eric went to the bottom in 3 on the last lap and left the top wide open. I took it, like eric would do the same if he was in second. Coming off 4 i clearly had the advantage and eric tryed his hardest to get a good run off the turn and slipped up and we crashed. (100% racing) If you disagree with that then ask eric his honest opion. But at the end of the day the reason why for4 does not like me is because of what i did after the race, which i was 100% wrong and i am sorry to EG and everyone that had to see that. I think if you ask around in the many different series i race with you will find that i am respected and show respect to the guys that i race with. And the equipment that i drive. And I work hard to be a clean racer, so it bothers me when someone who doesn't know what they are talking about says i pulled a bonehead move. And what really got me mad was your millionare nascar star comment because I have raced since i was 4 years old on a smaller budget than most teams i am up against. And i race because i love it. I feel that i am a real short track racer like eric gordon, as much as you hate to hear it.
I know my grammar and spelling is bad so i am ready for a comment that i should have payed attention in school or something like that. Bobby Santos |

Finally!!!.... a guy I can talk to... I understood every word you said.. The thing about the million dollar Nascar thing was in fun directed more or less towards the (the alarm) a race fan who I sometime see at the races and is a big fan of east coast stuff ( he is always trying to promote the east coast guys) he is a good guy. You might! be a million dollar NASCAR driver and I hope you will be. That thing that happen was right in front of were I was sitting.. I have been going to the races sence the 50's so I hope I have not wasted all my money watching and not understanding what I saw. As far as who had the faster car I think Gordon had a half a straight away lead on everybody before the yellow. I know Mr. Gordon or a member of his crew reads all this stuff so let them speek out now. This stuff is all good you know 99.9% of the world has know clue what we are talking about. ...Good luck and let us know what and when your next race is. Do you know Trish?

Eric Gordon may be the the smoothest driver I have seen since Tom Bigelow. In all the years I have seen EG race I have only seen him be the cause of one "get to gether" . EG races clean, runs up front, and rolls his equipment back in the trailer. EG also understands the cost of racing and tries to save his owners $ when ever he can. BS tells his side just as I saw it, entering turn 3 EG protected the bottom(sometimes the worst place to be is in the lead) leaving BS one option(only BS knows if he was better on the top or the bottom) and that was the top line thru 3&4. Upon exiting turn 4 EG & BS were side by side with BS having the drive to take the lead. EG's rear-end slid out from under him(he got loooooooooose), he bobbled slightly, his RR making contact with the LR of the 98 car, the contact caused the 98 car to turn down and the rest was hold on and hope. EG made the type of move you would expect from a racer, a calculated risk, as he seldom does, and just had a slight slip causing contact, or as BS said " a racing deal". These are the facts !!! I saw it live, then on tape. FACTS.
The racing world is full of young men that work hard, have the drive, have the passion, were born in the wrong era, are only there because of the family gingle, ect... And then there are some like Tony Stewart, Bryon Clauson,Carl Edwards, Bobby Santos, that make it to the next level for one common reason---THEY ARE GOOD,THEY WIN! Are these guys better than EG, Brian Tyler,Kevin Huntley, and the list could continue for ever??? I doubt it, each are proven winners, cut from the same mold. Some get the breaks and some do not. When one of the hard core racer like these men mentioned make it to the top, I hardly think that "big NASCAR millionaire" is a respectful way to address them ,I would prefer they were just called RACERS--give them the respect they have earned!! |

Let me add this. I have seen Eric Gordon race alot of times and he has always given more than he has taken, that was his race.... And as far as saying that he would have done the samething I would say no he would not have did that if he was in second. There is something missing here it is called respect Gordon has been racing probley longer then Santos has been alive sorry MR. Gordon. And when I see him get a chance for a win which he cleary deserved and it not happen I do get upset. When Santos goes to NASCAR he will learn about these things real quick.
Richard Murray Come on man I think you know Trish! |

OK the deal is this I think any sprint or midget driver who moves to NASCAR or ARCA or what ever is a sell out it is not a step up skill wise. The best drivers in the world drive sprint car and midgets. Give me Darland who I think is the best driver I have seen in the last 10 or 15 years Stanbrough, Cottle,Anderson,Gaines, etc. etc.they won't make alot of money but they are the best car drivers I have ever seen. Tony Stewart is bored to death driving those things but at the end of the week he says show me the money.
