Josh was running fourth and had a good shot at a decent finish tonight but about the time he and Shane went to battle the car started shutting off, a sick feeling hit me as I did not put enough fuel in the car and Josh ran out. The car sputtered as Shane went past and ran completely out coming out of two on the last lap putting Josh in tenth place for the night. We just got the car cleaned and apart, Josh has forgiven me as a matter of fact I was just about sick and all he could say was " I think we have her figured out" My only punishment was to sit in the back seat of the truck with a pretty girl (Sarah) on the way to the car wash as Sonny is not as forgiving as Josh and took the front seat on the way. I am sorry to all our sponsors and fans for screwing up what could have been a good night for Spencer Racing.
Just for the record what a nice race track as there was three sometimes four racing groves all just as fast as the other. Thank you goes out to the fans and the staff at the Kokomo Speedway for helping with the Toys for Tots tonight, the O'Connors did not have to help the less fortunate but as a show of class they stepped up and made a difference. Hats off to Reece for a great track last night. After the sprint car feature, we stayed for the street stock feature and it also was multi grooved with side by side racing. All this and the only thing they did during the brief intermission was to work the cushion a little with absolutely no water being added. Still plenty of moisture left after two features.
With an extremely hot and breezy day, the track held up very well. Four classes with sprint car group qualifying as well would normally eat up a track. This is the reason Kokomo continues to provide top notch racing.

Alot of wear and tear on a dirt race track and even when i came off the track after the last Victory Lane celebration it was still muddy and slick. A very fast Kokomo Speedway, as usual. And Jerry, next time just ask, we'll pitch in for an extra gallon. Just glad to see Josh so racey again, we missed him, bob.

I started 21st and got up to 13th, and ran out on that last yellow with 4 to go, so....like a tearoff, ya just got to let it go. :-) Steve Posted via Mobile Device |

Watching them from the infield, I thought they put on a great show. Like to see them race out there more often.
