I agree Dwight. What I said was really in jest. I am excited to see (hopefully) additions to the schedule.

The whole thing started off wrong when USAC decided to develop this new SC car (turd???) without much input from car owners and drivers. They go ahead with this and kind of shove this down their throats and with the blessing of NASCRAP, schedule a series of races at new tracks. Most car owners don't buy into the concept so you have 14 or 15 cars racing on 1 1/2 mile tracks as a support series to the Daytona Beach boys. From the crowds, or lack thereof, that I have seen it certainly didn't look to me like a win-win situation.

I noticed before this announcement that the 1 1/2 mile tracks disappeared off of the 2008 schedule. Darlington was the only one that remained out of the ISC tracks. Was this because of lack of attendance or what? Also my understanding was that ISC was subsidizing this endeavor so where does that stand at this point in time?
One last question. Should be expect to see some of the former PRA tracks end up on the 2008 schedule?

Great news. I hope placeslike Iowa, Milwaukee, and Martinsville can be added for the old cars.

What other tracks could we see added?

What tracks were those? Were there problems with attendance, car counts and getting paid at those tracks?

I don't remember exactly why USAC went in this direction 2 years ago, but I do remember something about promoters not wanting to pay the pavement purse. I'm guessing that this problem will still exist.

Iowa is already on the schedule for August 10th. I agree that Milwaukee would be a great addition. Not so with Martinsville. I don't feel that the SC cars would be a good show on that paper clip. The Nashville Fairgrounds, USA in Lakeland, FL, New Hampshire, and possibly Mansfield, OH IMO would be possible additions. First, though, would be to see how many of the pavement cars there will be. I hope the numbers would be high.

Personally, Along with Darlington, THe rock, Id sure like to see BRISTOL on the card. Old cars, not new, maybe some extra bars but it's gotta look like a champ car in the traditional sence, Nobody wants to watch morphadite car with non usac drivers at the helm.,

Perhaps you should read the press release again. There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING in it that even suggests the NG cars will not return.

To me its the right move, albeit, a year late. Yes its has to hurt those teams that bought into the idea but surely they could see this comming.... You can;t blame the tracks for not wanting to run shows without the cars to fill them... Forget Nascar and anybody else. Build cars that can run where your Fans are. Be the best you can at what your good at. In case you havent noticed, most Dirt LateModel fans don;t go to Sprint car shows, so why did they ever expect this to be a suppport class for Nascar... Yeh, it;d be Great, but it just aint likely...
At least, these guys have recognized they had a problem, and moved to correct it, instead of going down a dead end road... Good Move USAC.....
