Son Joey was a three time North Eastern Midget Assoc. (NEMA) midget champ 1989, 1991, and 1993 while sandwiching an ARDC championship between his last two NEMA titles in 1992. Sadly, it appears that the Coy streak will end. Johnny Sr. retired many years ago and passed away about a year ago. Joey and brother Johnny Jr. retired several years ago as well. Richie Coy never really got into midgets and the newest generation of Coys won't be old enough for full midgets for a while.
