IMO, the 1/4 mile is fine. There's been some awfully good racing over the years at the Burg.
Let's just hope that they use some really good dirt, like as an example Waynesfield and Gas City now has. We sure don't need it to be a weekly dust bowl, as some have had after a resurfacing. And look at the bright side, if they use good dirt and the 3/8 don't work, they'll have some spare good dirt laying around if they have to go back to a 1/4! :thumb::kookoo2: |

Kimbs great, she'll land on her feet if she hadn't already done so. As for Announcing, I was at the first night at the Hoosier fall classic and the cars had already taken two hotlap sessions and were ready to push off for qualifying before anyone grabbed a mic. I was about to step in and do so myself J/K Chuck

Hopefully cooler heads will prevail with the announcing situation. I'm hoping it was a misunderstanding between the two parties involved. I missed Kimb at the MSCS show but realize it was Racin' Jason's gig for that night. |

Dave.....
It wasn't my intention for my original post to head off in the direction it has gone. I am for ANY change that betters the sport!! And I mean ANY CHANGE!!! My post was supposed to be light hearted.. I was just saying that you have an AWSOME place and it takes a huge leap of faith to change something that is obviously working not to mention the gamble envolved. You ought to be playing on the crap table across the street.. I hope nothing but success for you in '08. The only thing I wish you could change is the 3 hour drive. If you could get that down to a couple hours I would be there every week!!! See what you could do for me.:emote20: See ya next year.:checkered: P.S. I want to say it again, your staff was awsome to deal with. From the front gate to the line up shoot and what a safty crew!!!! Your team made the logistical nightmare of an event like "The Fun Fest" look almost easy.. Great job!!!! |

Cecil has a stalker LOL.......Chuck N
looks like it, chuck! LOL Hey, I'm going to keep an open mind about this expansion. Of course I would prefer keeping it the way it is because I don't think it's broken right now and, I've been involved with the place in some capacity since I've been an infant. Change is always tough on some of us (especially old fogies!). Part of it is sentimental with me and part of it is the minor concerns I expressed in my earlier post. Often it works out for the better and I hope that is the case here. Dave (Rudisell) has a very valid point about Bill Cunningham. Agree with him, or not on this issue, Bill is doing what he can to preserve dirt track racing at Lawrenceburg. It's my opinion that the property is worth more as a casino parking lot/strip mall/hotel than it is as a race track right now. So, it needs protection and commitment from the city. Thankfully, Bill is on our side. At the same time, Greg is correct in that Bill has a vision of sometime in the future, Lawrenceburg hosting events comparable to some of the big shows that Eldora promotes (e.g. World 100, Kings Royal etc.). There's nothing wrong with having a vision and thinking big. At least he's thinking racing vs. Wal-Mart, as Dave suggested earlier. Just because it may not be the best thing for our small team doesn't mean these changes won't be better for the over-all health of the track and the sport BUT!! I have a right to express what my concerns are, and I will. Stalker or not!!!LOL PS....Dave I'm forwarding you the 2008 rules, policies and purses that I've drawn up as well as, a list of people that I approve of you hiring for next season's staff. Man! I love having all of this power!!:emote20: |
