Of all the drivers I have seen one name stands out above the rest. Rich Vogler. I have seen him win in more types of cars on both dirt and pavement. Plus his unbelivable ability to jump in inferior equipment at IMS at the last minute and put it in the show. I think the boys in NASCAR had a whoppin' coming to them till he met his fate at Salem. RIP Rich you will always be my hero!

Going with what I've seen in person and the kind of racing I like....

Sprint Cars - Kinser by far the best on dirt. He'd have lot of USAC wins too if he had chose to do that. When you win over 40 races in a year that something.

Indy Cars - Rick Mears is the best I've ever seen. A.J. and Mario weren't as big a factor. Nobody was as good at taking care of equipment and then being an assassian at the end like Rick was (Unser Sr. is right there in that category). Indy win in '91 is a perfect example of that. If you stack his starts to wins against anybody, he wins going way.

A.J., Mario, and Stewart to me are in there own class. Whether you like/dislike any/all of them, they are the best overall.

I still think A.J. may be Tony's dad based on driving skill and personality.

That is so hard to come up with an answer, I would have to say AJ for all around. Hewitt, Darland, Gary B., and Billy Engelhart are my champ car guys. Sheldon Kinser and Bubby Jones were always a thrill in sprinters! Kevin Olson, Vogler, Fox, and Kevin Doty would be my midgeteers. Boy, I sure do miss the good ole days!!
