Why in the world would anyone want to change that racetrack??
I haven't been there in 15 years and all I can say is what a facility!! The race track officials where the BEST!! They where courteous and helpful and did a great job this past weekend with over well over 600 cars..The safty crew was the best I have ever seen at a dirt track. They had the best equipment for the job and you could tell they knew how to use it. We had a great time and I tip my hat to you. The no fire deal was a problem for my group and many others around us as we had food for cooking over the iron grill but this had nothing to do with the race track. I should have asked or double checked before heading out. On a scale of 1 to 10 I have got to give it a 10!!!! Way to go and I'll be back next year for sure but I must say that I will miss the current configuration. Best of luck in '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:checkered::applaud:

That's exactly what they think. I've spoken with Bill Cunningham several times about the expansion. Problem is, excavating was to start today. $1.8 million has aready been alocated. It's a done deal. Hope it works out for everybody. It's going to be a little more expensive for the local guy to run weekly and they're going to have to prepare a slower track. Anything close to the track we ran on at the 10/6 MSCS show and it will be deadly. That was like a wing race. Could you imagine the same scenario on a longer track???? man...

Please Racers, Don't take this out on Dave Rudisell too. This was a done deal by the city.

And if Bill Cunningham takes my seats again and don't use them, Well Im gonna!

Bigger Races??? Huh?? We had the biggest races this past year, With the exception of a WoO Sprint show we pretty much had it all, 3 USAC Sprint shows, 1 USAC midget show, WOO Late Model show, MSCS show, UMP Sumernationals.......and much more.....
Maybe we need a NASCAR race, that would equal big money.
What the city wants is the best possible track that will draw the most people to the city. People need to realize what the city has done for the Lawrenceburg Speedway. They have spent multi millions on this track and are spending multi millions more this year and more next year.
How much complaining will go on if the city would just sell the property to a Wal-Mart??
Bottom line is people are afraid of change. I am one of those people.

The only beef i have about cecils post is the fact that he says the track could be too fast, HUH??? This is racing....speed is what it is about. Yes its dangerous, it don't matter what size track.
The City of Lawrenceburg Is outstanding to deal with, I have had a great time this year working with them. Mayor Bill Cunningham has done wonders for the track and we should all hope he gets re-elected this fall. What happens if he would be voted out of office and the new mayor hates racing?? scares me.

I would look at it this way any change By a City Council,County Council or even a Fair Board that in there mine is to improve and keep a Race Track running is a plus to this sport.
look around all over the country Tracks are fighting their surrondings to stay alive complaints of noise,dust,traffic etc.etc also race tracks are great places for developers to build homes with little work unlike clearing a woods off.
these developers don't come and try and buy the track at first they go behind the door and try and convince Town and county officals how much tax dollars can be made from say 500 $100,000 dollar homes are built where that Race Track is that the local people who built a home near a track that has been there for years but they want it closed and are lobbying the local officals.
so I would not do to much complaining to the Lawrenceburg Town but they do have something in there back pocket that very few towns have as a resorse that little boat sitting acrossed from the Track

well,i think everybody at the burg are very nice people..i think that there just trying to make the track best for the fans..butt all fans are not going to agree.i was at the burg this past weekend and many people think it is a great idea.but on the other hand some people think it is not a good idea.i think it is a great track the way it is,butt who knows, it might be better.
i guess will just have to wait and see.:confused:
