Sadly, I found this on Facebook posted by Dave Argabright:
"Got a call from Tom Chalk that a longtime mutual friend, Steve Chrisman, died this morning after a long battle with cancer. Tough news, Steve was a fierce competitor who campaigned a sprint car for many years and was also a full-time farmer..." RIP Steve |

Stephan D. "Fonz" Chrisman, 58, of Edinburgh, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 22, 1960, in Shelbyville, he was the son of David Chrisman and Phyllis (Emerick) Chrisman. Survivors include a brother, Jeff Chrisman (wife Jennie); sister, Jane Chrisman, both of Edinburgh; niece, Jill Chrisman; nephew, Jarrod (Jasmine) Chrisman; and great nephew, Everett Chrisman, all of the Edinburgh area. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Mary (Newton) Chrisman, and Myron and Helen (Closser) Emerick. Mr. Chrisman was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Columbus North High School in 1978. He was a self-employed farmer, working his lifetime on the family farm. He was a former member of the Flat Rock Volunteer Fire Dept., and Southern Indiana Tractor Pullers. He was a member of the United States Auto Club, where he was very successful competing in dirt sprint car racing. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and planting and harvesting crops. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Philip S. Newton officiating. Friends may pay their respect on Wednesday evening, Sept. 12, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Bartholomew County. Memorial contributions can be made to Flat Rock Volunteer Fire Dept. in care of the funeral home. I have fond memories of Kevin Doty in the Chrisman red & yellow #25 kickin' butt at Twin Cities during Sprintweek for several years.
