As many of you know my grandson Andrew was diagnosed with a brain tumor 12 weeks ago. After the initial surgery removed about 75% of the tumor, the treatment protocol that was chosen is a rather lengthy process. He is currently in week #8 of 51 weeks and he is responding very well. My daughter-in-law is a remarkable lady and as his primary care giver she is absolutely great. I would like to share with you her Thanksgiving note that she posted today.

"Thanksgiving."

"What are you thankful for? Many of us think about this question during this time of year, and give the standard responses: family, friends, health, grandma's stuffing receipe, the Illini having a decent season. But, really, what are you truly thankful for?

Time. For me, it's Time. Every moment, every minute, every second. Another day to hear Andrew's giggle, see that smile, kiss those litte bitty toes, look into his big blue eyes, watch his wonder, and hear his sweet voice. There could come a day where you wouldn't be able to hear your child's voice, smell his smell, kiss his face. I fear that day.

But today, today, I am grateful for today. A whole 24 hours that I have with my little boy.

In some ways, Toby and I have been given a gift-an opportunity for genuine appreciation, to feel utterly grateful for every day, every moment with other and with Andrew. It's a gift with great cost. A lesson of the deepest gravity. We hape that you, too, learn with us and are thankful for each of your moments with those you love."

Blessings to you and yours on this Thankgiving."
Michelle, Toby & Andrew

I wanted to share this with you since many of you have joined in on Andrew's journey. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for sharing that! You have the greatest attitude I can imagine! Our three year old niece just finished with a horrible year long ordeal with chemotherapy too. (kidney cancer). And we are so grateful for her being with us too! I pray Andrew's outcome is eventually as happy! Remember God is good!:respect: Keep up your good faith! Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope this comes out right. This deal is going to be something that will build a bond that will be stronger than it may have been before the little one got sick. Sometimes we are too busy to notice the little things that goes on around us, not knowing for sure what the next hour will bring can make even the little stuff that may have been overlooked seem big. For me pushing Josh up too the line and watching the push truck take off not knowing if he will be back makes just talking seem like a big deal. (it always has been a big deal) You and the little guy are lucky to have each other as I honestly think you make each other strong. The bond was strong before but I have a feeling that it has gone way beyond what it was before all this happened. We will continue to pray for you and your family.

P.S. I think James Taylor said it best "Whenever I see your smilling face I have to smile myself because I love you" (a must have C.D.)
