So they are going to have 2 12-lap "scrambles"? I guess when you only have 2, you can't call them heats? Have they ever done this before?

Bobby Santos wins 1st Scramble over Larson Swanson Hines Hagen Byrne O'Gara Clauson. Emmel DNS.
Caleb Armstrong wins Scramble 2 over Hamilton D.Armstrong Swanson Pierce Ferns Steele Carter Cabral. Feature Lineup: Santos C.Armstrong Larson Hamilton Swanson D.Armstrong Hines Bell Hagen Pierce Byrne Ferns O'Gara Steele Clauson, Carter Emmel Cabral. That'll teach me to reread. I didn't look at the first post and though Fred had left us. Sorry, Fred.

Everybody go take a look at Speed51.com. That's what a non-video race over the 'net should look like. A line every lap. Top 4 less than a minute after the checker. Pictures less than a minute later. I don't even mind that they ran ads during quiet periods. It's the best site I've seen.

"Scramble" might be a nice format change, it looks like maybe 6 cars chasing points this year which is going to lead to many short fields. Hopefully USAC will get some support from POWERI cars this year on the dirt? Might be a good year to consider other options when spending my entertainment dollar? But, back to the Scramble idea, knowing that your looking at a season with very little support from car owners, running two meaningless heat races vs this format, brings meaning to 2 heat races! Sad but true, when it comes to midget racing, USAC is no longer the "Top Dog".

Great job by Speed51. Best live updates I have ever seen. Way better than what USAC does. The pictures were cool too. I will definitely be following them again tomorrow night.

BC was driving the #4 Beast, but it looked to me like they had some problems all night.

With only 18 cars, no reason to run 3 heat races and a last chance race. Something tells me the track might have had something to do with it as well. They had 3 other classes running as well. With tight budgets, no reason to run extra meaningless laps. Hopefully everyone will be able to get there cars back together. Would like to see larson find a Late Model ride for tonight. This is where he won his first stock car race last year. Speed 51 is great. Check out there website today after lunch. They should be starting around noon or 1pm with practice highlights. I'll post a link later.
