I am not a race track owner or promoter but how can Kokomo have a sport compact race for 100k to win but the Smackdown only pays 30k. Is it the sheer number of entries or do they have some big sponsors? Asking for a traditional sprint car fan.

Kinda both, pretty sure this is a track rental deal. Admission is free. XR is doing it for streaming, not sure why

I know the entry fee for the sport compact deal is $600. Not sure if that covered a pit pass or just for the car. (Idt many of us care, but it got postponed til August btw...lol)

Pretty sure it was 200 cars at a $600 entry fee. It totally filled up. It is a track rental. It's just what XR does. Now the question is will the drivers get paid? look up Peyton Taylor and his struggles to get paid last year. I know multiple Late Model guys were having trouble getting paid. They were refusing to unload their cars until they got paid from previous events. Hence the reason you seen $20,000 races last year with less than 20 cars. Also why you do not see as many XR Late Model races. It is very cool to see these lower classes getting big pay days, I just hope it comes.

Now on the side of smack down pay. Why does it pay what it does? They don't need to pay anymore! Very good field of cars for what they are paying. To stay in business every promoter has to make profit. Not to mention track upgrades. Kokomo has done a lot over the last 10 years. That money has to come from somewhere.

The tracks rented by xR and how they pay the purse is on them. The track give em a price to staff and prep it for the weekend

Because it's promoted by XR Events! Not the track!

XR is a promotion and a dirt racing streaming service

Look up Barry Braun on Facebook. He owns XR.

Besides the race was postponed to late July.

Because the drivers pay the purse. 200 cars at $600 is $120k.
